Michigan Freedom of Information Act Procedures and Guidelines 

The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides for public access to certain public records, permits the charging of prescribed fees and deposits and provides remedies and penalties for non-compliance. A person has a right to inspect, copy or receive copies of certain requested public records. Some public records are permitted or required not to be disclosed. Fowlerville Community Schools is a public body that must comply with FOIA. Fowlerville Community Schools has established the following Procedures and Guidelines to implement FOIA. For purposes of these Procedures and Guidelines, terms have the same meaning as defined in FOIA. A complete copy of FOIA is available on the Michigan Legislature's website

Review the Fowlerville Community Schools Procedures and Guidelines (which include a Public Summary and a Fee Itemization Form) on the District's website. A physical copy of these Procedures and Guidelines will be included in each of the District's FOIA responses.

Individual indigence waiver: I request the first $20 of the fee without charge and certify that they statutory requirements below apply.
Qualifying nonprofit waiver: This request is made directly for a nonprofit organization formally designated by the State of Michigan to carry out qualifying developmental-disability protection or advocacy activities, and the request is accompanied by documentation of that designation.
