FCS Hires Marc McKay as Chief Financial Officer
Fowlerville Community Schools is pleased to announce the hiring of Marc McKay as its Chief Financial Officer. McKay’s hiring was approved by the Board of Education at the August 19 regular meeting.
Mr. McKay comes to Fowlerville after serving as the District Accountant at Howell Public Schools for the past three years. Prior to that he served as the Business Manager for a real estate firm. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from Central Michigan University in 2009. He also holds a Michigan School Business Officials (MSBO) Business Office Manager certification and is in the process of earning his MSBO Chief Financial Officer certification.
“We are excited to welcome Marc as our new Chief Financial Officer,” notes Matt Stuard, Superintendent. “Marc brings a wealth of financial expertise and a proven track record. With his guidance, we are confident our district will continue to be strong stewards of taxpayer dollars while ensuring our financial decisions support the success of our students,” Stuard also noted.
In his new role, McKay will be responsible for the district’s overall financial health, including managing the budget, ensuring financial compliance with federal, state and local regulations, overseeing financial reporting and providing financial guidance to the Superintendent and the Board of Education. In addition, he will develop financial strategies aligned with the district’s mission and maintain strong communication with stakeholders.
“As CFO, my commitment is to accountability and impact – turning budgets into outcomes,” says McKay. “We’ll make data-driven decisions that keep classroom first, facilities safe and our long-term plan strong. I’m excited to get started.”
