National Honor Society works hard to bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to the attention of parents, teachers, and the community. Membership in this prestigious organization is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon our students.  NHS recognizes outstanding scholarship and citizenship. This mix of characteristics is one to be encouraged and cultivated. Membership in NHS facilitates continued growth in these important areas.

Selection for NHS membership is based on several factors.  An overall grade point average of 3.3 or above is required and 10 hours of community service completed in high school in different areas.  A student’s ability to demonstrate outstanding personality traits in the form of leadership, service, and character is also necessary for inclusion in NHS. NHS seeks to identify and train the leaders of tomorrow. Future success necessitates the early cultivation of the entire individual.
